Services

Six things we do, done thoroughly.

Take one service or combine several into a single monthly engagement. Each is scoped in writing so you know exactly what is covered.

Clear paperwork, calm deadlines

Every engagement starts with a written scope, a document list and a calendar of the dates that matter to you.

01

Bookkeeping

Monthly reconciliation of bank, card and sales feeds, with a short summary of what moved and why.

02

Year-end accounts

Statutory accounts and company filings prepared from clean records, reviewed with you before submission.

03

Personal tax returns

Self-employment, rental income, dividends and pensions brought together into one accurate return.

04

Payroll

Payslips, starters and leavers, pension contributions and the monthly submissions that go with them.

05

VAT & sales tax

Registration advice, scheme choice and quarterly returns prepared from your bookkeeping software.

06

Planning sessions

Salary versus dividends, when to incorporate, and what to set aside each month for tax.

The year with us

A calendar, not a scramble.

Accountancy runs on dates. Here is the rhythm most of our clients settle into, adjusted to your own year-end.

  1. Month one

    Onboarding

We collect prior returns, software access and authorisations, then send your personal deadline calendar.

  2. Every month

    Books reconciled

Transactions categorised and queries sent in one batch, never a drip of emails.

  3. Each quarter

    Returns & check-in

VAT or sales tax submitted, plus a short call on profit to date and the tax to put aside.

  4. Year-end

    Accounts closed

Stock, accruals and assets confirmed with you, accounts drafted and walked through line by line.

  5. Before filing

    Return approved

You see the final figures and payment dates at least four weeks ahead of the deadline.

  6. After filing

    Plan the next one

A planning session to set payments on account, drawings and any structural changes for the coming year.

Engagements

Find the arrangement that fits.

Three common starting points. Most clients sit clearly in one; if you straddle two, we scope a combined engagement.

Every fee is quoted in writing after the intake call and does not change unless the scope does.

Before your first call

Have these to hand.

You don't need everything, but these make the intake call twice as useful.

  • Your last filed tax return and any assessment letters
  • Company or tax reference numbers you already hold
  • Access details for your bookkeeping software, if you use one
  • Recent bank statements for business accounts
  • A list of income sources, including rental and dividends
  • Any deadlines or letters you are already worried about
Questions

What people ask first.

How hard is it to switch from my current accountant?

Not hard. With your permission we contact them for the handover, request prior working papers and update the authorisations. You don't need an awkward conversation.

Which bookkeeping software do you work with?

We work with the major cloud packages and can migrate you from spreadsheets. If your current setup works, we keep it; we only suggest a change when it saves you time or fees.

What stops a fixed fee from creeping up?

Your scope letter lists exactly what is included. If something new arises, such as a property sale or a new company, we quote it separately before doing any work.

My deadline is close. Can you still help?

Often, yes. Tell us the date in the enquiry form. If we can't file it properly in time, we'll say so on the intake call and explain your options.

Do we need to meet in person?

No. Most clients work with us entirely by video call and secure upload. In-person meetings can be arranged when you'd prefer one.

What if my records are behind or incomplete?

That's common. We start with a catch-up phase, quoted separately, to bring the books up to date before the regular monthly rhythm begins.
